Dear Friends:

It’s a joy to report on our 2009 year of Silence Foundation programs!  This year, with your help, we offered:

Spring and Fall Weekend Meditation Retreats serving over 100 persons
       Scholarships for 1 elementary child and 1 teenager to week-long Peace Camps
       Presentation of silence/meditation skills to campers (co-sponsor: The Peace Education Institute)
Scholarship of 1 adult to the Silence and Inner Terrain Workshop at Ghost Ranch, N.M.
First National Silence & Inner Terrain Workshop at Ghost Ranch, N.M. in August 2009
Local Silence & Inner Terrain Workshop in Yukon in December 2009
Monthly Mindfulness Training Programs (in partnership with Prairie Wind Sangha)
Silence for Elementary School Children and their Teachers in Oklahoma City Metro
Vision and planning meetings toward a Retreat Center in Oklahoma City

In 2010, we plan to continue all of the above programs and expand in the following planned areas:

Start a Silence and Mindfulness support group for professional counselors and nurses
Partner with Non-Violent Communication Groups to offer NVC training with Silence/Mindfulness
Develop and deliver a Silence program for teen mothers and professionals who work with them
Give Silence and Inner Terrain Workshops in Oklahoma City, Dallas, Kansas City, and Mexico
Give the Silence and Inner Terrain Workshop at the Santa Fe Ghost Ranch Campus, Oct. 2010
Publish two books:  Soul of the Tribe (by David McCleskey) and David’s Passing: A Story of Conscious
Dying (by Pat Webb)
Host a weekly Silence Workshop by email to serve at least 100 persons in building the year 2010
on a foundation of Silence

We are grateful to have blossomed as an organization this year, especially in the physical absence of David McCleskey, our co-founder.  Truly, angels have guided our steps and allowed new program breakthroughs almost every month.  We could not have done this work without the support, encouragement, and financial gifts of friends like you!

All gifts, even small ones, make a real difference.   This year we offer a monthly giving option as you’ll see on the enclosed form.   We invite you to mail your tax deductible contribution or monthly intention before the end of 2009 if possible.  This helps us plan.   May your season be full of light-filled Silence and the abiding treasure of peaceful awareness.
